Enhancing Enhance!

Enhance 2 – our tailor-made access support and training for shows in post-production – is ready for a 3-year roll-out from 2023-26.

Thanks to Paul Hamlyn Foundation, we are now offering this tailor-made programme for venues and touring theatre companies across the U.K. We will be working with 54 touring theatre companies within a range of venues between 2023-26. The purpose of Enhance 2 is for one of our experienced visually impaired Enhance facilitators to work with each theatre company – to fine-tune their show post-production – to enhance accessibility for their visually impaired audiences. The outcome of this creative process includes: succinct live programme notes, Touch Tours, visual impairment awareness training for venues, and support with building visually impaired audiences.

Our newly appointed Enhance Training Manager Caroline Jeyaratnam-Joyner started in October to oversee the programme.

Our Enhance facilitator training on 15th November was a great way to kick off proceedings. The day included some of our Enhance facilitators involved with the pilots – running sessions throughout the day. Each session resulted in dynamic discussions about best practice, training content, building relationships and strategic approaches.

If you are a visually impaired facilitator, or access worker based in the north east, Derby or Hereford: please get in touch with [email protected]. We are recruiting facilitators and access workers in these areas.

A group of two white men and two white women chat and smile together in a relaxed workshop space. They all face away from the camera, and are surrounded by chairs and a large window looking out onto trees.
