Extant Associate Artist Project in association with Sprint Festival at Camden People’s Theatre

A photograph of Alice Christina-Corrigan, wearing matching black tracksuit trousers and top. She faces away from the camera towards the back of the stage, her right arm lifted to the ceiling and her left reached out sideways. On the back wall there is a projection of the words 'You are worthy' which is separated so the word 'You' is on the far left and the words 'are worthy' are on the far right. Edited onto the photo is the Extant logo in the bottom right corner of the image.

Extant is proud to announce an open call-out for our second Associate Artist project for 2022-23, in partnership with Sprint Festival at Camden People’s Theatre.

We are offering a commission for one blind or visually impaired artist or VI-led company to develop a project and present a work-in-progress performance at Sprint Festival in March 2023. Sprint is Camden People’s Theatre’s annual festival of new and unusual theatre, showcasing artists at the dawn of their careers, making brand new cutting-edge work.

We are looking for big ideas from the blind and visually impaired creatives in our network – all are welcome to apply! We will work alongside the chosen artist or company to develop and produce the work-in-progress showing, including providing support with recruiting team members and actors, dramaturgical feedback, marketing support and mentoring.

We’re committed to championing blind and visually impaired talent, so the Lead Artist must be a blind or visually impaired creative, and the successful project should provide opportunities for blind and visually impaired actors and creatives.
