Call Out: Extant seeking organisations with experience of working with visually impaired prisoners and the prison system process.

Extant, the UK’s leading company of visually impaired artists, is developing a new project exploring the realities of prison life from a visually impaired perspective.

We are looking to speak with organisations/individuals who have either firsthand experience of working with visually impaired prisoners or who have visited prisons and can share their insights on the experience visually impaired prisoners face before, during and after prison, and in relation to the judicial/probation systems. These interviews will be confidential, and your privacy will be respected at all times.

We’re particularly interested in hearing about access to education and rehabilitation for visually impaired prisoners, how social or buddy systems work, and how rules and regulations are made accessible. Your experiences will help us create a performance that truly reflects and addresses these issues.

If you’re interested or want more information, please contact us on [email protected] by Monday 27th October, 10am.

We look forward to hearing from you and bringing these vital stories to light.
