Training trainers to facilitate practitioner’s awareness
As part of our Pathways programme we are extending our series of visually impaired awareness training sessions for theatre practitioners, to tutors and directors. So far we have delivered this training for the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, The Actors Centre and the Young Vic. A wide range of theatre industry colleagues from RADA, ALRA, Drama Centre, Improbable, and freelance theatre directors have participated so far.
As part of a process of increasing our capacity to deliver more training, recently, 7 visually impaired and blind actors, storytellers and theatre-makers took part in a training session led by Amelia Cavallo, Steven George and Maria Oshodi. The trainees developed their skills and knowledge in how to deliver making casting sessions, rehearsal rooms and workshops more accessible to visually impaired and blind people.
