As part of Extant’s ‘Hub Building’ in the North West, in 2017 we began delivering a weekly theatre group at the Met in Bury. The group, known as Engage 2 Stage have now been formally constituted as their own community group. They performed recently at the celebrations and unveiling of the new Victoria Wood statue in Bury.

History:

In 2016 we ran the Living with Sight Loss course in collaboration with Action for Blind People, Manchester. The main aims of the forum style workshop were to increase mobility and empower individuals to lead more independent lives.

In June 2016 Extant ran a 6-week workshop series exploring the world of William Shakespeare at Z Arts in Manchester, for visually impaired individuals aged 16+. Download the workshop leaflet here.

In July 2016 we ran a Drama workshop with Galloway’s Society for the Blind on Friday 29th July 2016 in Preston. A one-day programme of movement, voice and drama skills, led by artist facilitator Elizabeth Wainwright.
