Female, playing age 16/17 (real age no older than 22) London accent.
All ethnicities are welcome.
Preferably an established actress with a very natural acting quality who can handle the intensity that comes with rehearsed readings.

Dates
23rd-27th November (10am-6pm each day) with a sharing on the Friday at 4pm followed by an informal discussion and drinks.

Pay
£440 for the week.

Direct Suzann McLean says: 'I am using this week to explore the text, authenticity of the piece and its appeal to its target audience, explore fight sequences within the piece in particular with the visually impaired actress, and explore other aspects ie sound and design. For this reason the sharing will have a mixed audience of the target age and industry professionals. And I envisage that the reading will be moved not a static reading.'

All applicants should contact Suzann directly on [email protected] or 07973440775

2) Owain Hopkins at Treetop Films urgent seeks a male actor for the following role in November:

BEN EVANS – A 65 year old blind man.

Accent: Welsh preferred but not essential

We will be filming for 4 days (the 27th through to the 30th of November) and will be paying Equity minimum of £122 per day.

A South Wales/Cardiff base is preferable as due to the low budget, we cannot cover expenses for travel,  rehearsal or audition costs. Breakfast & Lunch will be provided throughout filming.

Contact: [email protected]

3) Force Studios are seeking a blind male actor aged 25-40 for a film called You & Me (pictured), to be shot in Los Angeles in January 2016:

'We are searching for a blind man from ages 25-40 to play the role of Tony, a man who has recently lost his vision. Preferably someone who can also sing, and also preferably someone who could look newly blind. While we are shooting in LA, we would be willing to fly someone out from another place, if they’re perfect for the role.'

You & Me is about a young deaf woman who meets a recently blinded man at a cafe. What follows is a funny and moving love story about life’s universal challenges and joys. You can check out a sample of the film via this short film of one of the scenes.

To apply for this role, submit a headshot, resume, and preferably also a monologue on tape to [email protected]

4) Award-winning director Tom Haines is researching a short film that centres around the experiences of young blind or visually impaired people in relationships. The film will predominantly live online and will use one or two case studies as his subjects to focus on. There are no restrictions on gender/race/sexuality, and the film explores emotions, sensations and imaginations of a young couple in love.

His target age is between 18-21 and he would initially like to talk to willing subjects about their experiences for research, and eventually find a couple to film with. Target subjects are both blind or visually impaired. There is no set date for filming yet, so we can be flexible with schedule.

The film is being produced through London productino company BOLD; please contact [email protected] or  020 7908 6060 if you'd like to get involved or find out more. You can view some of Tom’s work here.
